An ancient engineering marvel spanning across the Kaveri river.
Kallanai (also known as the Grand Anicut) is an ancient dam built across the Kaveri river in Tamil Nadu. Located at a distance of 15 km from Trichy, it is believed to be the fourth oldest water diversion or water-regulator structure in the world and the oldest in India that is still in use.
